Black History Month: A look at our Members’ activities

Back in October, we saw the celebration of Black History Month within many of our member organisations and across our wider Inspiring Super-Network.

We want to showcase what our Automotive 30% Club, Patrons, and Silver Members did to mark this important month and showcase role models within the sector. Read more below.

Enterprise

Enterprise’s Talent Acquisition Team hosted an Inspiring Future Leaders insight session that was open to students at all Universities across the UK and Ireland.

The insight session was led by Enterprise’s Black Leadership Team and covered advice on how to develop your personal brand, a keynote from one of our directors, and a panel where students could ask any questions to our black role models about their career, support, and advice.

Internally, Enterprise’s Race, Religion, and Equity Team hosted a Food Fair on campus, which featured food stalls from the Caribbean, and their podcast club also ran a session around black role models who have been overlooked in history and should be highlighted.

Auto Trader

In celebration of Black History Month, Auto Trader held an event to celebrate and action this year’s theme: Time for Change, Action not Words.

Attendees heard from a panel of automotive and finance industry experts, as well as watching performances from Afro-Caribbean music acts. Speakers included Ugo Eboh, Culture and Capability Lead at Virgin Money, Rubi Sarang, Project Manager – Rolling Stock, and Co-Chair of HS2’s REACH Network, Emily Davies, Director of Social Impact at Amey, and many more. Auto Trader hosted this event in collaboration with Race Equality Matters.

Thank you to each of our members for sharing their activities around Black History Month, we’re always keen to hear about our members’ activities, so please get in touch with sophie@automotive30club.co.uk if you have any activities you’d like to share with us!
