I am proud to be a Silver Member of the Automotive 30% Club. At Close Brothers Motor Finance, we’re aware that the motor industry historically has been male-dominated and we want to lead by example and support causes to improve diversity and gender equality.

We began a journey three years ago to address this imbalance and continue to strive to create a more inclusive workplace.

We are passionate about actively fighting for an increased representation of women, and in direct response to gender inequality, we launched the Women in Motor Forum in January 2020, which aimed to tackle a gender imbalance within our own Sales team at both Account and Manager level.

The Forum has created a fantastic shift of perspective across the business. It’s initiated various activities to empower women and raise awareness of the challenges to gender equality. We’ve hosted panel discussions, with Managing Director Seán Kemple and other leaders across the group, drawn on the insight and advice of external speakers at our quarterly Forum meetings, and are also working closely with the Automotive 30% Club to engage and support female leaders.

As a result of increased networking and the exposure of Women in Motor, Close Brothers Motor Finance has seen an increase in female representation in the application process for new roles.
