Adam Pay
Adam is Managing Director of Halfords Garage and Mobile, leading one of the UK’s largest garage and mobile servicing networks.
An apprentice technician by trade, Adam built his career from the shop floor up. After eight years with Kwik Fit in the UK, he moved to Australia in 2005, joining Kmart Tyre & Auto Service and helping lead the evolution of the business.
Adam was appointed Managing Director of Kmart Tyre & Auto Service in 2013 and went on to lead the sale of the business to Continental in 2018. He subsequently oversaw the rebrand to mycar Tyre & Auto in 2019, driving growth, transformation and stronger operational execution across the network.
He is passionate about cars, people and customer experience, and is focused on making Halfords famous for putting customers first through consistently high-quality servicing, tyres and repairs.

Melissa Mulholland-Wells
Melissa is the Talent Director at Halfords, and has been with the company for just under 3 years, where she is responsible for leading the agenda on Skills, Leadership and ED&I. Before joining Halfords Melissa has had a career spanning Retail, Manufacturing and Foodservice in roles from Store Manager to Supply Chain Director, before moving into HR as Talent Director.
Melissa’s focus at Halfords is the development of colleagues and leaders to ensure the organisation has the skills and capabilities to deliver current and future business goals, as well as building an inclusive organisation that helps colleagues and leaders fulfil their own potential through the provision of development opportunities and career paths.
