Meet Wendy Harris, Vice President for European Sales at CarGurus & PistonHeads and IAW Award Winner for 2019
Wendy first joined the automotive sector almost 2 years ago and currently leads Cargurus’ European team. Her team is comprised of 80 people across 4 different groups representing 5 different countries. The groups include sales development, sales, dealer relations and customer success.
Wendy inherited a team in January 2018 that was heavily skewed towards men with only 15% women, so Wendy placed a huge focus on hiring a more diverse workforce. In September 2019 this ratio has now improved to 60% men / 40% women in Europe. At the European leadership level, this ratio is even better currently standing at 50/50. Wendy also leads a number of initiatives for women in sales across CarGurus in the US and Europe.
Upon been told she had been selected by an independent judging panel as a winner of the Inspiring Automotive Women Awards for 2019, Wendy commented: “I am honoured to receive this award. Successful leaders understand that diversity is crucial when building a top performing team. This is undoubtedly part of CarGurus’ competitive advantage in Europe”
