Meet Yasmin Lord-Pottinger, Dealership Coordinator, Jardine Motors Group and IAW Award Winner for 2019
Yasmin has been a dealership co-ordinator for four and a half years, however during this time there has been key changes to her core role and duties.
She has worked as an Office Manager and PA to the Market Area Director, which developed into a dual site Dealership Coordinator. Her key responsibilities include operational support for all colleagues and the management team including HR support and compliance.
As the only female in the dealership’s management team, Yasmin helps to bring about better gender balance by having the courage to speak openly and brings her views as a professional woman to the table. She has also supported at internal Women in JMG events as well as the Automotive 30% Club school outreach activities, enabling Yasmin to be an advocate within the business as well as beyond.
The inspiration that drove Yasmin to join the industry stems from her family background, as she explains:
“Coming from a family where most of the professionals in the family are male, I wanted to break this mould and prove to myself and my family that women can succeed in any and all professional environments including male dominated ones like the automotive sector. It is because of Jardine Motors’ culture and support, that I have been inspired to now push my ambition further.”
On hearing the news that about being an Inspiring Automotive Women 2019, Yasmin said: “I am overwhelmed and feel extremely proud and grateful for this nomination.”
